Position Summary The Wetzel and Howe labs in the Plant Resilience Institute at Michigan State University are hiring a postdoctoral research associate for a collaborative project that spans ecology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. The project examines the ecological and biochemical resilience of milkweed plants and their insect communities to extreme heat events. A major goal is understanding the effects of stress timing and how timing differs across milkweed species from different climates. We will use biochemical and molecular approaches to advance our general understanding of the resilience of plants and plant-associated communities to environmental variability and to improve milkweed conservation in the face of climate change.
