As the Technical Trainer at Brody Brothers Pest Control, you will collaborate closely with the Company President. This role is responsible for training and supporting field technicians in pest identification, treatment protocols, safety compliance, and industry best practices. The Technical Trainer will lead the education and development of field technicians through both classroom instruction and hands-on field training to shape and uphold the company culture which is rooted in integrity, quality, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Development
Lead structured classroom training sessions covering pest biology, behavior, identification, treatment methods, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
Develop and maintain engaging training materials that reflect best practices and industry standards.
Provide field-based training and mentorship, demonstrating proper techniques and reinforcing safety and service standards.
Assess technician competencies and create individualized development plans where needed.
Technical Support & Quality Assurance
Act as an expert for field technicians when they encounter complex or unfamiliar pest issues.
Conduct regular ride-alongs and field inspections to assess technician performance and adherence to company protocols.
Support quality assurance by providing real-time coaching, and feedback.
Implement strategies to minimize the need for repeat services, thereby enhancing service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure all technician practices meet or exceed local, state, and federal regulations, label requirements, and internal standards.
Assist in maintaining training records, certifications, and continuing education units (CEUs).
Stay informed of changing laws, label updates, and safety standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Strong understanding of pest biology and integrated pest management (IPM) principles.
Excellent classroom teaching and field coaching skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to lead by example and instill company values in others.
State certification or license as a commercial pesticide applicator (or ability to obtain quickly).
Preferred:
Experience supporting both residential and commercial pest control services.
Familiarity with Maryland regulations and common regional pests.
