General Description: The purpose of the R&D Scientist position is to support MGK's research and new product development efforts focusing on vector control through the coordination and management of biological efficacy studies. This position requires an individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while providing creative input in the areas of discovery and exploration, technology platform construction, and new product development. A successful Scientist candidate must also work effectively within teams and be able to collaborate with others from different departments.
Principal Responsibilities:
Work closely with R&D personnel, Marketing, Chemistry, Regulatory and project teams to design laboratory and field-based bio-efficacy trials that support research and development objectives
Coordinate and manage in-house and commissioned biological efficacy trials conducted through contract research organizations (CROs), universities and commercial development partners
Develop strong working relationships with cooperators and external influencers, especially with mosquito abatement districts
Report study outcomes via timely written reports and presentations at project management and team meetings; provide routine updates via monthly R&D activity reports
Provide technical support for existing products and support Sales and Marketing initiatives
Provide technical field support and interface with technical services team to support customer needs
Assist with writing product labels, official trial reports and other registration support as requested
Collaborate with SCC group companies and other development partners
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Entomology or related field required
Ph.D. in Entomology desired
5+ years’ experience working with experimental design and statistical procedures. Experience with JMP-SAS beneficial
Experience working with or researching vector arthropods, especially mosquitoes, required
Proficiency in project management and ability to analyze biological data & present trial results in a clear, meaningful manner
Strong team and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
Additional Requirements:
Position is full-time, onsite in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
