Postdoctoral Researcher
The Kansas State University Department of Entomology, in collaboration with the USDA-ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research in Manhattan, KS and the University of Thessaly (Volos, Greece), is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on a multi-region, multi-institutional NIFA-funded research project. The position will focus on developing mitigation tactics, prediction models, and automated remote monitoring tools for ameliorating the biosecurity risk posed by the quarantined khapra beetle, Trogoderma granarium, and the invasive larger grain borer, Prostephanus truncatus. Khapra beetle is among the 100 worst invasive species, while the larger grain borer has decimated maize production in much of sub-Saharan Africa, and occurs near the southern USA border. T
