Ph. D. Research Assistantship
The Kansas State University Department of Entomology in collaboration with the USDA-ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research in Manhattan, KS and the University of Thessaly (Volos, Greece) is recruiting a Ph.D. student to work on a multi-region, multi-institutional NIFA-funded research project focusing on the developing mitigation tactics, prediction models, and automated remote monitoring tools for ameliorating the biosecurity risk posed by the quarantined khapra beetle, and invasive larger grain borer. Khapra beetle is often ranked among the 100 worst invasive species, while larger grain borer has decimated maize production in much of sub-Saharan Africa.
