Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lab Technician for the Waksman Institute of Microbiology. Under the immediate guidance and direction of a senior technician or other supervisor, provides routine technical support relative to scientific research work or projects of a laboratory and/or teaching program.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Performs scientific procedures in support of lab research, such as transfection, western blotting, animal dissection, immunostaining, and imaging.Performs technical tasks in support of lab research, such as making solutions, autoclaving glassware, and maintaining insect and/or bacterial and tissue cultures for experimental purposes.
