Post-Doctoral Position in Epidemiology and Entomology

The Department of Biomedical and Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate fellow.

The fellow will be responsible for conducting studies investigating health disparities and factors that influence these disparities. The findings will be useful for guiding health planning and service provision to reduce/eliminate disparities and improve population health. This appointment begins in December 2023.

The position requires a PhD with advanced training in Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, Entomology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The successful candidate will be highly skilled in quantitative epidemiologic methods as well as entomological data collection, analysis and reporting. Tasks will involve analysis of quantitative health and entomological data as well as development of models to guide disease control efforts. Experience with managing large data sets is also required. Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are required. The candidate will also be required to be a productive member of the team and be able and willing to work with graduate students.
