The Research & Development Scientist position develops and executes testing strategies related to new product development while participating on project teams, participates in evaluations of new technologies and active ingredients and supports other cross-functional efforts between both technical and business groups with their expertise in entomology. This role applies technical expertise and has knowledge of arthropod biology and active ingredient function. The R&D Scientist demonstrates project team leadership and develops experience with various types of protocol design while collaborating with external parties, such as the EPA and other regulatory agencies and customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide scientific leadership and direction in cross-functional teams for the development of new products from a biological perspective
Develop experimental protocol designs to achieve project initiatives while meeting regulatory and compliance standards
Participate in evaluation of new technologies and active ingredients
Write and review technical reports and present technical findings to large groups and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally
Work closely with Chemistry/Formulation, Technical Services, Regulatory and other cross-functional departments to meet timelines for deliverables in new product development and technology assessment
Provide creative and scientific solutions to resolve problems while working with complex projects
Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
Master’s Degree (MS) in Entomology, Biology, Ecology or related scientific field required
PHD in Entomology or related biological field preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with presenting scientific data to both technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent collaboration skills suited to work across broad cross-functional teams
Experience analyzing data and use of statistical analysis software programs
Self-starter able to independently initiate and conduct projects while providing periodic updates to the team
5+ years experience in product development (R&D) demonstrating the application of scientific principles preferred
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the insecticide industry preferred
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
