Course Information
Coatesville Country Club was founded in 1921, with a course first designed by Alex Findlay. It is set in scenic Chester County to the backdrop of rolling hills and beautiful lake views. The club is member owned and has been one of the fastest growing clubs in the area over the past 3 years. The membership is one of a kind that cares greatly about their club and has created a true family atmosphere with their employees. There is great potential for learning experiences as the responsibilities of the Green Department are far reaching. There is also the potential for many projects both on the course and off in the upcoming years.
Position Description
The applicant must be a self-motivated and organized individual. The Golf Course Superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance, operation, and management of the golf course. It is his/her responsibility to supervise the maintenance of the golf course, maintenance equipment and club facilities as needed. The ideal candidate is someone who can organize daily activities while also performing technical tasks themselves. Individual will be expected to participate in all aspects of the operation including but not limited to ordering/inventory/application of pesticides, irrigation operation and maintenance, staff management, scheduling, and quality control. This individual will be expected to attend Green Committee Meetings and weekly Management Team meetings.

Duties: Golf Course Superintendent will be the Department Head for the Green Department. Budgeting, Scheduling, Human Resource Management and Training are all responsibilities of this position. Other duties include but are not limited to; pesticide and fertilizer application, irrigation system maintenance and repair, equipment operation and repair and overall supervision of the Green Department staff to ensure consistent high quality playing conditions on a regular basis. Continually update Long Range Plan and Equipment Replacement Schedule and communicate to Greens Chairman and Committee.
Experience and Special Skills
Education: Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Agronomy or related field or Turf Certificate. Recent or upcoming graduates will be considered.
Special Skills: Must possess valid driver's license. Candidate should have or be able to obtain a PA pesticide applicators license within 90-days. Must have knowledge of the operation and repair of irrigation systems and components. Must be able to diagnose common turf pathogens and insects. Must have knowledge of turf control products and proper handling and application of such products.
