General Requirements:
High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent with at least one year of experience in a laboratory at a university, college, or experience in a related field. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs under supervision, a wide variety of routine and technical tasks including sample preservation of invertebrates, assisting in Texas Invasive Species Institute (TISI) educational events, organizing specimens and inventory.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Interprets and applies routine but moderately complex directives requiring limited judgement. Requires ordinary attention and care to tasks such as, but not necessarily limited to scheduling, maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, equipment maintenance and repair, sanitation, security, and compliance with university and governments procedures, standards, rules and regulations. Processes field samples and documents insect species collected for funded grants. Assists with educational programs with supervisor. Helps support other team members as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
