Researcher 1: Pharmacology
Job duties:40%: Cloning, expression and purification of a library of protein kinases in E.coli, insect, and/or mammalian cells40%: Chemical labeling of purified protein kinases to prepare FRET sensors, trouble shooting of FRET sensor function and sensitivity, benchmarking of FRET sensor performance in time-resolved fluorescence experiments20%: Working with a team to perform high-throughput drug screening for allosteric kinase inhibitors using the FRET sensors prepared aboveOur group studies allosteric regulation mechanisms that are disrupted in cancer, with a particular focus on the protein kinases. We use biophysical approaches to tease apart how allosteric regulation works and aim to harness this knowledge in pursuit of new allosteric inhibit
